 Julia Shabanova - Doctor of Science (Philosophy), Professor, Head of the Department of Philosophy and Pedagogy of Dnipro University of Technology since 2001.
“Outstanding Educatior of Ukraine” (2005). Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine (2017). She has been working at the department since 1997, head of the department since 2001. She is the author of 4 monographs, 3 textbooks and 4 textbooks (three of them are acknoledged by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine), as well as more than 170 scientific publications in national and foreign professional journals on philosophical, cultural and pedagogical issues. Scientific adviser of 2 doctoral and 4 PhD theses in the specialty "History of Philosophy" and "Social Philosophy". Member of the Editorial Board of Scientific Journals: "Grani" - a specialised journal of Ukraine, "The problems of the Humanities. Philosophy" - a specialised journal of Ukraine, "Philosophy and Political Science in the Context of Modern Culture" - a specialised journal of Ukraine, "Ukrainian Culture: Past, Present, Ways of Development" - a specialised journal of Ukraine.
Sphere of scientific interests: general questions of the history of philosophy, problems of medieval philosophy, irrational directions of Western European philosophy, as well as questions of modern worldview and spirituality in education, culture, art and science.
Director of the Center for Aesthetic Development, Center for Engineering Pedagogy (accredited by IGIP) and scientific director of the Social and Psychological Service of Dnipro University of Technology. In 2001 she defended her PhD thesis in specialty 09.00.05 - History of Philosophy on the theme "Metaphysics in the Philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer" and received a PhD in Philosophy. In 2002 she got the academic title of Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy. In 2007 she defended her doctoral dissertation in specialty 09.00.05 - History of Philosophy on the theme: "Transpersonal Metaphysics of German Medieval Mysticism" and received a PhD in Philosophy. In 2008 shegot the academic title of Professor in the Department of Philosophy. Teaches subjects: "Introduction to the specialty 033 - Philosophy", "Introduction to the specialty - 034 - Cultural Studies", "Philosophy of the Middle Ages and Renaissance", "Culture of the Western European Middle Ages", "Non-classical philosophy of the second half of the XIX century. - beginning of XX century", "Philosophy of Culture" for bachelors of specialty 033 - Philosophy, 034 - Cultural Studies; "Pedagogical Deontology", "Research Methodology in Education" for masters; "Philosophy of Science and Fundamentals of Scientific Ethics" for graduate students. Has the acknowledgment of the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, the region and city authorities, the Department of Religious Studies of the Institute of Philosophy of NAS of Ukraine, the leadership of Dnipro University of Technology (2019).
